Guise

This is a collaboration with artist Francis Martin. The idea started when a delivery of new business cards arrived, and to our fortune they had sent twice as many as ordered. With this extra surplus of cards, we found ourselves doodling over the portrait image on the front, it was from there that the project was realised. I liked the challenge of finding new and inventive ways to conceal the original form and to create different and individual guises.

i created this animation for the Shoreditch town hall exhibition 'out of dust, more light more power"
i took the idea of rejuvenating old clips from the public domain archives and putting them out of context whilst utilising
the Holga scans that i had done previously.

Stills from Shoreditch town hall brief. Some of the images were taken with a Holga camera, the negatives were scanned but produced a nice 'glitch' effect due to an error in my hardware. the first image you see is a still of a stop motion clip shot with a very low shutter speed on a moving train.
